A tour which departs from in or around Edinburgh or The Borders, our Moffat and St. Mary’s Loch tour will take you deep into the Southern Uplands of Scotland. We will depart at 09:00 and will aim to have you dropped off at around 17:00. Like all our Driver Guided Tours, the day will be tailored to you.

Discover Scotland's untamed southern heart with the Moffat and St. Mary's Loch tour. You'll be captivated by the area's stunning upland landscapes, spine-chilling tales of the past, and delightful surprises along the way.

Travelling south from Edinburgh we follow the majestic River Tweed to it’s remote source, before taking in the awesome hollow known as The Devils Beef Tub. Soon we arrive in pretty Moffat, the market and spa town famed for its independent shops. We will have lots of time to take in the charms of the town, and some lunch, before heading into the remote forests of Eskdalemuir, home to the Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre, a remarkable building where we will enjoy the tranquillity and peace on offer. Our journey takes us to Ettrick and across remote valleys to St. Mary’s Loch, the largest natural loch in the Borders. Our journey homewards will be no less dramatic, on small roads through mountainous terrain, a thrilling conclusion to a memorable day in the Southern Uplands of Scotland.
